The Story of Lavin

Lavin Design Fashions is an upscale women's boutique that has been in business for over 30 years. Lavin offers a variety of different and unique women's designer fashions and accessories---timeless pieces that include dresses, pants, jeans, skirts, jackets, suits, hats, jewelry, makeup, and outerwear. Proprietor, Deborah Stewart-Akles, after earning a degree in Fashion Merchandising from Brandywine College, started Lavin in 1983 as Lavin Cosmetics, a door-to-door, make-up and cosmetic business. She expanded to Lavin Designer Fashion and Cosmetics in 1989 and opened her first store front on Taylor Avenue in Towson, MD in 1992. Ms. Akles closed  the Towson store in 1996 to pursue a Bachelors Degree in Theology, and in 2000, reopened Lavin Designer Fashion and Cosmetics at the Hartford Road location in Parkville, MD. Lavin does Fashion in a unique and personal way; and offers unique and quality merchandise, and superb customer service in a manner that is second to none.
